Just for clarification: RTSP is intended to set up and control media
streams; RTP is intended to transport such media streams. They are
completely independent of each other; on the Mbone, RTP is used (but no
RTSP, media is multicast and session information is acquired via SDP); and
certain DVB set-top boxes control media sessions with RTSP but receive
these streams as DVB TV Channels.

Many set-top boxes support RTSP but not RTP.

Miguel
