For me the title fo the song the "now playing" field is always displayed at the bottom of the vlc player (wxwindows interface) The problem is most likely that the skin u are using don't show the now playing field, I believe the default skins2 skin don't show it. So try to change to another skin or try the wxwin interface and see if its then displayed, if it is, it's a problem with the skin. Let us know how it goes. The second number is the version and should increase at each update. Here is the code I have used instead long long unsigned int hash = 0; for (int i = 0; i < p->GetName().size(); i++) { hash *= 2; hash += (int)p->GetName()[i]; } string v="v=0\n"; // SDP version char oo[1000]; sprintf(oo, " %lld %ld IN IP4 ", hash, time(NULL)); string o="o=" + p->GetUser() + oo + p->GetMachine() + "\n"; The code is a gross hack, but I am not a fan of C++ and therefore don't know how to handle type string. If you don't mind rebuilding the rpm, it's not that hard. You need to do the following steps: 1) Get the vlc source rpm you want to use, either the official one or the one at http://dag.wieers.com/packages/videolan-client/ which is http://dag.wieers.com/packages/videolan-client/videolan-client-0.8.1-3.rf.src.rpm 2) You really want to build RPMS as a user, so create a file called '.rpmmacros' with an entry like %_topdir /home/spindler/Work/redhat You should replace the directory with the one you want to store your RPMs. 2.5) Setup directory structure inside redhat ./SOURCES ./SPECS ./RPMS ./RPMS/i386 (replace with your architecture) ./RPMS/noarch ./BUILD ./SRPMS 3) Install the src.rpm with rpm -ivh videolan...src.rpm. This will place the spec file and sources somewhere below %_topdir 4) Go to the spec file in %_topdir/SPECS and add the dvb configuring option below %configure 5) Build rpm with rpmbuild -bb videolan-client.spec 6) If it doesn't fail, an rpm is stored in %_topdir/RPMS/{arch}/, just read the output of rpmbuild Good luck! I'm running VLC on a 266 MHz AMD Geode SC1100 CPU, with a Yuan MPC622 (http://www.yuan.com.tw/en/products/vdo_mpc622.html) hardware MPEG2 encoder, and IVTV 0.2.0-rc3k (www.ivtv.tv) drivers. The main issue is that I'm getting "received buffer in the future" errors on my VLC 0.8.2 client. I think this stems from the "late buffer for mux input" errors I'm receiving from my VLC 0.8.2 server. I suspected CPU load, but utilization is under 50%. I only found one reference to "late buffer for mux input" on Google. What does this mean? Is this pointing to IVTV or something else? I'm also concerned about "trying to send non-dated packet to stream output!". Is VLC recieving bad packets from IVTV? Any help would be grately appreciated. (LIVE.COM) and WIS Technologies are pleased to announce the availability of "wis-streamer" - an open source, standards-compliant RTSP/RTP server application that streams encoded video and audio from the Linux WIS GO7007 driver. This driver supports several low-cost, off-the-shelf hardware video encoder devices, including: - Plextor ConvertX M402U and TV402U - NorthQ NQ6600 - Georgia Technologies GA-VD207 The "wis-streamer" application can stream video in MPEG-4 (default), MPEG-1, MPEG-2 or motion-JPEG format, and can stream audio in raw PCM, or 8-bit u-law format. The resulting stream can be viewed by standards-compliant RTSP/RTP media player clients, such as VLC and QuickTime Player. Message-ID: <42DD4B2B.2030805@gmx.li> Hi everyone I installed vls on my debian box today and wrote a vls.cfg after the instructions on videolan.org. After starting vls via commandline it started and didn't complain about anything. So I tried to log in to the telnet interface, but there was none. So I changed LocalPort, Domain, LocalAddress in all possible combinations and even left the Telnet section blank, but after each start there was nothing listening on the configured or standard port. I searched the web and the docs, but I didn't find a hint on how to enable the telnet console, everyone just says it should be there. Any suggestions?
