Hello all, I would like to know if the following setup is feasible: I want to stream audio/video captured over an i.Link IEEE1394 connection that has been MPEG4 encoded (realtime as Xvid possibly). First is this possible with VLC? Second, the connection to stream over is probably going to be 512Kbps, so I'm wondering what I can expect in the way of quality. Can I get TV quality (near 30 FPS, near VGA resolution)? If not, what kind of bandwidth do I need to get near this quality? I realize that this is dependent on the encoding settings, but I'm looking for best case that will fit in this bandwidth. Also, what kind of horsepower do I need to encode the video for live streaming and what kind of delay can I expect from capture to transmit? What about decode? How much of a delay should I expect here? Can I throw more processing power at it to lower this delay? Thanx for any assistance, OLIVER -- This is the streaming mailing-list, see http://www.videolan.org/streaming/ To unsubscribe, please read http://www.videolan.org/support/lists.html If you are in trouble, please contact
