The best is to write to translators@videolan.org . You don't need to
subscribe but it speeds up thing because it avoid moderation.

Thanks for this. I will communicate the email address to the translation teams

You can also write to vlc-devel@videolan.org if it's very technical.

I subscribed to this list and will communicate technical issues as they com up

I (or someone else) should committhem this week. That will activate them
automatically for Linux. For Win and Mac we usually activate them only
if a majority of the "normal" GUI is translated. If you selcted the
strings for vlc_mini correctly it should be ok

Thanks for committing to commit the files this week ;). I am positive that the strings we generated are going to cover most of the "normal" GUI as one of our most experienced experts (Friedel Wolff) did the trimming. I hope you are able to release for Mac and Win quickly if the "normal" GUI looks mostly translated?

Then we need a release: we reached the point in the 1.1.x branch where
we only release if we accumulated anough bug fixes or if someone
discover a securit issue. That makes date difficult to predict.

We are patient, but of course, the sooner the languages get released, the better. The source files change as we get more updates. Is there an easy way for me to, for example, commit changes, so we move more quickly on this?
