Hi,

We are currently using VLC as the mainstream video player for a corporate IPTV broadcast in SD, with 9000 users. In general, people are very satisfied with the overall system, especially with the CPU utilization being order of magnitude lower than the MS counterpart (which makes a lot of people delighted here)..

However, there are a few issues like lipsync, pixellation, and interlace, which begin 1-2 hours after the encoder starts. The customer is just restarting the encoder (vlc 1.1.7) every time they detect a problem and that fixes the issue for some more time. I was wondering if there is a known issue with the particular codec they are using.. and if someone could recommend a better codec/setting to give a try, that would be definitely worth testing.

Here are the encoder settings:

C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC>"C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe" dshow://
:dshow-vdev="Osprey-210 Video Device 1" :dshow-adev="Osprey-210 Audio Device 1L" :dshow-caching=600 :dshow-vdev= :dshow-adev= :dshow-size= :dshow-aspect-ratio=4\:3
