According to the bug tracker, <a href="http://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/6209" target="_blank">http://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/6209</a>, RGBA support for PNG has been added to VLC. However, 2.0.3 packaged build still gives the error that no suitable decoder was found for RGBA. Even 2.0.4 doesn't seem to have this fix. I am wondering if the fix is in a later version.<br>
