<p>I think it would be appropriate to at least reply to any conflicting fix/patch available on the mailing-list if one decides to push a patch that was written locally.</p>

<p>Because I must admit that I got very confused when I saw a commit fixing an issue that was already fixed, and I honestly do not think when a patch was written locally should matter in these cases.</p>
