<p>And of course, maybe it is obvious in this case as WSL2 is meant
to run on Windows but, the ultimate workaround would be using the
native Windows build.</p>
<p>If you are a user, maybe you are not aware (as I have seen on the
internet some people are not), but there are nightly builds here
(<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://artifacts.videolan.org/vlc/nightly-win64-ucrt-llvm">https://artifacts.videolan.org/vlc/nightly-win64-ucrt-llvm</a>) that
you can get the optimum results on Windows. If you are a
developer, for Linux specific things I think it makes more sense
to not use a virtual machine (especially for developing a video
player), and for Windows specific things I think nowadays it is
not so hard to use MinGW-w64 to cross build for Windows.</p>
