<div dir="ltr"><div>Hello and greetings from a fan -</div><div><br></div><div>I am a nearly 45-year veteran of the Audio and HiFi business and a massive music fanatic. I've worked in retail, for manufacturers, at Microsoft as an Audio Visual Tech and now in semi-retirement doing business as a speaker repair and restoration shop. The player is already superb. My suggestion pertains to the audio section, mainly the compressor section.</div><div><br></div><div>For many years, I have used variants of the dbx 3BX and 4BX dynamic range expanders to give older analog recordings and some modern dynamically "dead" recordings more dynamic punch and impact. I have also used variants of the dbx 120 subharmonic synthesizer and the Waves Maxx Bass 102 to recover missing or weak bass. I have used these signal enhancers with vinyl records, CDs  and streaming from a variety of sources, mainly Tidal, YouTube and Spotify.</div><div><br></div><div>It has occurred to me that having these tools either as part of the VLC Media Player would be extremely useful when streaming music. Even better would be to have a standalone app with a suite of tools that could be utilized as a global processor for ALL audio on PC/tablet/iOS devices. The fact that VLC already has a compressor and an EQ is a good indicator that this would be possible. </div><div><br></div><div>Thoughts? </div><div><br></div><div>Please contact me if you have any questions, and know that I would love to be involved in the conceptual part of development (my coding chops are non-existent) and perhaps GUI design.</div><div><br></div><div>Thanks for your consideration.</div><div><br></div><div><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_signature" data-smartmail="gmail_signature"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div><span></span>Best Regards,</div><div><br></div><div>Paul Johnston<br>President and Chief Loudspeaker Biologist</div><div>RJM Audio Group, LLC<br>RJM Audio Lab/The LoudSpeaker Store</div><div>206.409.4724<br><a href="http://www.theloudspeakerstore.com" target="_blank">www.theloudspeakerstore.com</a><br>On Facebook:
