
<html><div>It seems that when using VLC as a streaming server, the RTP

packets generated have a huge overhead.</div>

<div>I am streaming a  video clip encoded at 96kbps for video and

32kbps so I am expecting the RTP streaming to be in the order of 130-135

kbps. When I measure the traffic using a network analyzer (Ethereal), it

shows 220 kbps.</div>

<div>Is it du to some overhead added by the VLC ?</div>

<div>How can I get ride of this overhead (running the MTU of the network

interface doesn't help).</div>
