In the same way .. Is somebody knows how to compile vlc with mp3, ogg and all network support ? I think i have to compile ffmpeg as well ? I am running a debian unstable. Any package 0.8.5 with all these "options" ?

is there a command i can use to see what options a vlc binary was compiled with?  specifically i am trying to figure out if the binary i am using on various systems has been compiled wiith the --enable-mediacontrol-python-bindings option.
