Hello Michael,<div><br></div><div>VLC for OS X features basic Apple Script compatibility, which allows you to add files to its playlist, start the playback of a certain item, etc. Additionally, it is equipped with the RC and HTTP interfaces for more advanced controlling.</div>
<div><br></div><div>However, MS Access is not (and won't be in the foreseeable future) available for Mac OS X, so you'll probably need to convert your database... FileMaker is coming to mind. This conversation is probably the hardest part. Controlling VLC from a different application is easy.</div>
