I did some testing of WebM vs H.264 decode with VLC. Now can anyone explain why my desktop running Linux was beaten by my netbook running Windows XP ad CPU utilisation when watching WebM and H.264 encoded video?
My desktop is Athlon X2 2.1GHZ Ubuntu 10.10 and netbook is first gen Atom N270 1.6GHz Windows XP. Netbook used 25% CPU while desktop used 50% CPU(50% of one core).
Can anyone explain? Or point me to an explanation?
