For example: hXXp://www.downloaddirect.com/download/VLCSetup.exe is one site hosting the fake player</div>

Please be sure that any website that asks you to update or install a plug-in or application comes from a trusted source.</div>

It is always safest to download software from it's original publisher, and not a third-party.</div>
