deleted file would have gotten uploaded through torrent along with
the file i was downloading as in while we are trying download, it
starts seeding and uploading data right, I want to know if this
deleted file data would have gotten out of my system through VLC
or through torrent. Because now even if i clear the VLC cache,
uninstall and reinstall the VLC or completely format my system,
the file i was downloading keeps playing those clips from the
deleted file still.

Hi,

I was downloading a file(calling it 'file1') using
torrent and before the file was 100% complete i tried
to play it using VLC player, I found another of my
videos(calling this video 'file2') playing/popping up
when file1 kept getting stuck while rendering on the
screen. The strange thing is i had deleted file2 from
my system a week ago. I am clueless on how it was able
to read that file2 and play it in between file1. And
the stranger thing is I have formatted my system and
when i play that file1 which i saved in an ext HDD, it
still keeps playing file2 when ever it encouters a
jerk in the VLC media player and remains stationary at
the exact same locations when i play it in windows
media player. Can you please explain what is happening
and why such behavior is exhibited by VLC player.

Thanking you in advance for you support.
Thanks,
I encountered this behavior as well. It's because the file
you were still downloading (file1) was downloaded in chunks
which have spaces between them (not yet downloaded chunks of
the file). These spaces were not overwritten with any data
so they contained data from a previously deleted file
(because when you delete a file, it does not get physically
deleted, only the space it occupied is reclaimed as free) -
file2.
No, not even a bit from that old file is uploaded. Torrent is only
sharing those parts it downloaded itself. It would make no sense to
upload any other data than those specified in the torrent file
anyway :)
