This appears to be a Windows error with its sound server.

Try and reinstall windows and see.

This could be a virus problem too, the virus could be taking a lot of cpu, but the task manager never shows cause your PC is infected. And virus scanners don't really work.

Dear Sir or Madam,

Unfortunately, I could not register me in the forum, so I will write to you.

I have one question and one problem with VLC Media Player 2.0.4.

1.
Are there recommended settings to get the maximum performance (best
video and audio quality with a GeForce GTX580 and i7 960 [e. g.
Deinterlacing-Mode, DirectX or OpenGL, etc.]) of the player?

2. My Problem is the following:
As Audio-Output-Module I chose "Win32 WaveOut extension output". Unfortunately, the sound stutters with this module.
If
I use other modules, like DirectX Audio Output or whatever, there is no
stutter, but if I make louder the audio level from 100 % to 200 % there
is a loud noise and you can't hear much of the sound.
This problem
occurs not with "Win32 WaveOut extension output", so I decided to take
this. But there is as written above the problem with stuttering sound.
Is this normal and how can I fix it, so that I have a clear sound?

My Sound-Chip: Realtek ALC889, onboard (latest driver installed [R2.70])
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium, 64 Bit

Thank you very much in advance and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Best regards

Fabian
