[x264-devel] x264 announcement: feature change warning

To all developers,

x264 will be adding support for weighted P-frame prediction in a few
days.  It will be on by default.  There are many aspects of this
change that should be noted by users of the x264 library.

1.  Weighted prediction is not compatible with Baseline Profile.
While x264's --profile baseline will still work as expected, users of
the library may want to modify their applications to take this into
account, particularly if they need baseline profile output.

2.  --weightp 2, the default "smart" mode, may break some
non-spec-compliant decoders.  For example, it is known to break
CoreAVC.  A fix will be issued in CoreAVC 2.0.
