have to re-encode every time there is a commit to git. Additionally you
never mentioned it being for mobile platform. On a mobile platform I couldn’t
see any improvement that doesn’t allow for the same quality at
approximately 30% less size being of any great importance that justifies a
re-encode considering that even the quicktime moves I got when purchasing
various blu-ray titles show artifacts on my computer monitor but you can’t
even hope to see on my iphone. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

that'll improve compression efficiency coming this year? I'll be re-encoding my
large collection of videos soon for the last time. I've done it 3 times, and
they're not fun. I don't want to do it again (at least for a long time) because
the x264 developers did some black magic :) making x264 a lot more efficient
compression wise right after I finish, which happened 2 times.<o:p></o:p></p>
