Seems a bit silly to ask considering they are always improving something.<br>

Why don't you just encode lossless instead of reencodong everytime there is an improvement in quality. That way no more time wasted needing to reencode.<br>

Besides the weight-p patch, are there any other features that'll improve compression efficiency coming this year? I'll be re-encoding my large collection of videos soon for the last time. I've done it 3 times, and they're not fun. I don't want to do it again (at least for a long time) because the x264 developers did some black magic :) making x264 a lot more efficient compression wise right after I finish, which happened 2 times.<br>
