<div dir="ltr">Hi,<div><br></div><div>From my experiments, the pass1 encoding complexity has small affection for the 2-pass final results.</div><div><br></div><div>So, in order to reduce the encoding time, I let the SD do the normal 2-pass encoding(also update stats in 2nd pass), and let 720p ONLY do the 2nd pass with the pass1 stats from SD. Absloutely, the 720p suorce comes from same original source as SD just with differernt resclar. </div>
<div>According my testing results, there is always 0.1-0.2 db loss for 720p compare to the normal 2-pass no matter which methods I used to predict the stats. </div><div>The stats inlclude 2 parts:</div><div>1 mbtree (resclar for different resolution)</div>
<div>2 frame info(scale)</div><div><br></div><div>I want to know is there a better way to compensate the 0.1-0.2 loss? Which part has bigger affection for the pass2? 1 or 2?</div><div><br></div><div>Regards,</div><div>Kevin</div>
