So, after quite a few hours of testing:
 - Works fine on non-NEON devices,
 - OpenSL ES lipsync drift increases by quite a bit, the longer you
   watch a video. A 20 minutes TBBT shows it quite clearly, in the end.
   Seeking works fine.
 - Android Java is less quick than before and is way more affected by the
   thumbnails in the background than OpenSL ES.
 - Thumbnails are still hard to kill.
