Oh, then maybe the diagnostic should be updated to reflect the above?

I built *vlc-android* using `ndk12` and as far as I can see everything seems
to be running along smoothly (in the emulator for both `x86_64` and
`ARMv7`, as well as on my phones).

Out of curiousity:

  - What is it that makes `ndk12` not suitable for building *vlc-android*?
  - Is it recommended to downgrade to `ndk11` for a (more) stable build?
