Well IMHO this should only be enabled if you're not syslog'ing your output, because the timestamping would be then redundant. Also it can be counter-productive in some cases: when there is a discontinuity we just print "TS discontinuity", and that's intended because if you're using syslog, it will just log "last message repeated 42000 times" and avoid filling up your hard drive. If you timestamp the output (or print the continuity counters like we used to do), then they will be different lines and they will all be written.
