[dvblast-devel] Video freezes

Hi,

I'm still facing problem with video that freezes once a 10-20s. The source is DVB-S captured by modified (to bypass av7110) Technotrend 2300 card and descrambled by proCAM.

Here is the sample:
http://bit.ly/aTZ3db ... 61MB pcap file with multicast group 239.0.1.1:52000
http://bit.ly/aoJZiB ... 52MB transport stream from the pcap file above

The stream has 10 CC errors total at the beginning and near the end but they are not related to video freezes (for instance during american football commercial - old lady and man falling down)

I've tested 2 STBs. Both had problem. And also tested several software players (TS file was read from filesystem not from network):

VLC 1.1.4 ... freezes at the same position as both STBs
ffplay 0.6 ... smooth
elecard mpeg player ... smooth

I was trying several analyzers (I don't know if I can use them properly):

TSReader ... no interesting information (just found 5CC and the beginning and 5 near end of sample)
StreamGURU ... found PCR accuracy problem (>500ns, <-500ns) and PCR interval problem (30% >10ms)
PixStream/Cisco ... a lot of "Temporary reference is not consecutive","Field order not consecutive" and "Video buffer: overflow+underflow" messages, video buffer bars (min, max) are often red - more often than freezes.

Can I ask you what you think the problem is? If videplayer reads TS from filesystem the jitter introduced by kernel(DMA) and dvblast (network) should not affect the stream, right?
If PCR is the real issue(?) it's not CAM neither DMA neither dvblast issue but only encoder issue on broadcaster side, isn't it? What would solve the issue apart from fixing encoder? Increase videobuffer?

Thanks for you comment.
