[dvblast-devel] dvblast: multicasting out via a specific interface

Hi all,

I have two machines sharing the same ethernet, and am able to multicast traffic from dvblast v2.2 to the second machine where gstreamer is able to pick up the stream using udpsrc.

I have added a separate VLAN to both machines, with the aim of sending multicast traffic exclusively down this VLAN, but I am struggling to configure this successfully. I am either able to see all multicast traffic down the main eth0 interface as well as the eth0.3 VLAN interface, or I see no multicast traffic over either network.

Can anyone confirm the correct way to configure the source interface for multicast?

I have tried the following:

; multicast over eth0 only
[ff05::1:3]:5004     1    8261

; no traffic arrives on second machine, no traffic visible on first machine
[ff05::1:3%eth0]:5004     1    8261

; no traffic arrives on second machine, no traffic visible on first machine
[ff05::1:3%eth0.3]:5004     1    8261

Regards,
Graham
