Dear libdvbpsi users and packagers,
The last libdvbpsi release was done 1 years ago and proved to be a
stable release used by many application among which VLC.
In the last year a few bug fixes and new features were added to
libdvbpsi hence a new release.
The most prominent change is the license change from GPLv2 to LGPL v2.1.
This changes is marked further by a version jump from 0.1.7 to 0.2.0. The API
is retained for now, but a massive API change is being prepared for
1.0.0 release.
But let us focus on this release:
The libdvbpsi developers brings to you version 0.2.0.
Libdvbpsi features:
* Bouquet Association Table (BAT), decoder and generator.
* Conditional Access Table (CAT), decoder and generator.
* EPG Information Table (EIT), decoder and generator.
* Network Information Table (NIT), decoder and generator.
* Program Association Table (PAT), decoder and generator.
* Program Map Table (PMT), decoder and generator.
* Section Description Table (SDT), decoder and generator.
* Splice Information Section Table (SIS), decoder and generator.
* TOT Table (TOT), decoder and generator.
* All MPEG 2 descriptors, decoders and generators.
* Supported platforms GNU/Linux, *BSD, Windows and MacOS X.
* Version 0.2.0 and up have LGPL v2.1 license for easy integration
in applications.
* Versions prior to 0.2.0 are released under GPLv2.
New in 0.2.0 wrt 0.1.7
* License change of libdvbpsi from GPLv2 to LGPLv2.1
* bump version number to 0.2.0 (skipping 0.1.8 and 0.1.9) to indicate
GPL -> LGPL license change
* new CUE Identifier descriptor support (0x8a)
* new Splice Information Section table support (0xFC) (SCTE 35 2004)
* new BAT table (decoder and generator)
* new descriptor 0x44
* depreceated all API's in preparation for 1.0.0 release with reworked API
packagers and application developers should anticipate:
- structure renames dvbpsi_handle to dvbpsi_t
- prototype changes
- removal of printf for message printing
- message callback function
