thanks for reponse.
more questions..
I would like to use vls to stream video from bttv card over a lan. As a
prep I am trying to use streamer to record video . I get video but no
sound. the tv card actually passes off sound to sound card line port. I
figure there is some mixer settings, but I also need to know what device
sound can be read from, /dev/dsp, /dev/audio??
aumix -q seems to reveal appropriate settings
$ aumix -q
vol 83, 83
pcm 90, 90
speaker 67, 0
line 89, 89, P
mic 0, 0, R
cd 67, 67, P
igain 47, 47, P
ogain 67, 67
line1 69, 69, P
dig1 67, 67
phin 67, 0, P
phout 67, 0
video 67, 67, P
vol and line are mixed plenty high.
The following produces avi video file with no sound. using /dev/dsp
default makes no difference..
$ streamer -n ntsc -t 5:00 -r 24 -o movie.avi -f mjpeg -j 86 -F stereo
-C /dev/audio
If I can figure this out it could help with future development of video
streaming.
any help appreciated.
