I think the point is that there is no such thing as "DVB-T in the US",
or if there is, it's not being used commercially. American digital
terrestrial television seems to be called 'DTV' rather than 'DVB' and
whilst both use MPEG2 for transport streams, the containers are quite
different (8VSB versus COFDM/QAM) and totally incompatible.
