Are you sure that your file is MPEG2-TS ? it is quite unusual to have
mpeg2ts files with .mpg extension. When you use the command line, vls
guess the format, so you don't have to specify it.
Maybe you should try with type="Mpeg2-PS". It may solve your problem.
