[streaming] IPv6 TTL Problem

Hi all,
I'd like to signal a problem with vlc 0.53 and multicast IPv6 streaming TTL
option. This option, on Linux, seems not to work (Tested with Redhat9.0, on
some different PCs).

It's easy to replicate the problem: on a IPv6 enabled Redhat box, you try to
stream a video with a multicast IPv6 address (e.g. ff0e::10:10:10), setting
the TTL option, let's say, 64. Analyzing the generated packets with Ethereal
or tcpdump, you will see the TTL field equal to 1 (the default).

Is there a workaround or a patch for Redhat? Maybe vlc 0.60 solves this
problem, but the installation IS NOT as easy as vlc 0.53 with Redhat (lots
of compilation issues - mpeg2dec, vlc, ....).

[I've signaled the same problem to the vlc list]

Bye
Paolo
