I would love to know how you get this thruput!
We have a number of systems here ranging from 1Ghz P3 systems to several P4 systems, all with min 256mb ram, and the best we have been able to get is 2 - 3 streams (typically 2-4mb/s streams)
Are you streaming using VLS or VLC? And what distro are you basing it on? RH, Deb, other?

That's quite strange. What's the source of your streams ? Is the CPU
utilisation of ssytem or user type ?
I'm currently streaming 1 DVD stream (8 Mbit/s), 3 satellite Video
streams (4 Mbit/s each) and 25 radios (200 kbit/s each) from a Duron 900
MHz 256 Mo ram, and CPU is still 40 % idle... I managed to stream 6
MPEG4 videos using VLC stream output on the same server before it became
overloaded. (the total bitrate was over 30 Mbit/s).
