Well, vls  is currently unable  to stream  directly divx, xvid,  etc. In
fact, it can only  stream MP4 if it is already in  a TS container (Maybe
PS too, not sure...)

You can  use vlc  stream output  to create  such a  file once,  and then
stream it with vls

Vlc doesn't  have a  telnet interface indeed.  However, the  current cvs
features  a  http  interface,  that  could perhaps  help  you.  RTSP  is
currently being implemented too.

By the way, we're pleased to learn that BELNET is using our solution.
