What OS are you using on the server and client sides? 
What make/model of network cards are you using?
What network infrastructure (hubs, switches,  routers, etc.) connect the
two?
What is the host network configuration like?
What EXACTLY, start-to-finish, do you do to try multicast?

I can help, but I gotta know more than "Doc, I feel kinda funny"...
