Yep! A warning however use a codec that an iPaq can decode, e.g; DivX
and Mpeg4 is a nono (takes too much CPU to decode), a mpeg1, H263 will
do fine.

It is your choice! How much work do you want to do and what? If you want
to leave your server alone, then you'll have to compile vlc for RH 7.3
(there is no package for it).
If you do not like to compile VLC, then you can use the RH 9.0 packages
and you'll have to upgrade your server to RH 9.0 too.

Logitech webcam will be usable with the right device driver. RH 7.3 and
RH 9.0 luckily ships them, but support is better in RH 9.0. This is
because the Logitech webcam uses USB2.0 and that is much more mature in
RH 9.0.

It does work, but only from the commandline. I did not get around to
creating a GUI for it yet. Maybe in future, but I doubt it will be the
near future.
Start VLC on opie like this:
$> opie-vlc
It will start vlc and listen to port 1234 on the network. When a stream
comes in it will display it.
