Hi to all!
I have a problem with the vls program because it doesn't send any movie
through the network.
I followed the steps in the vls user guide to install it:
./configure --disable-dvd
make
make install
Then i configured the vls.cfg just replacing the movies definitions with
movies which i have in my server.
When i test the vls by calling the vls command i don't see the messages
which i was supposed to see:
VideoLAN Server v 0.5.3 (Jun 6 2003) - (c)1999-2003 VideoLAN
2002-03-09 17:24:51 [INFO/Vls] Module "channel:file" registered
2002-03-09 17:24:51 [INFO/Vls] Module "channel:network" registered
2002-03-09 17:24:51 [INFO/Vls] Module "mpegreader:file" registered
2002-03-09 17:24:51 [INFO/Vls] Module "mpegconverter:ts2ts" registered
[...]
I just see:
VideoLAN Server v 0.5.3 (Jun 6 2003) - (c)1999-2003 VideoLAN
and nothing more....
I start the vlc client program in the same machine which i run the vls
program in order to check if the movie i have started with the start
command, in the telnet session, is being executed.
I made two tests. The first i started a movie throw the localhost port
1234 and the other one i started a movie to be sent the IP address of
the local eth0 interface.
In both cases the vlc does not receives nothing and the vls does not log
anything. I checked if the problem was in the movie
but i opened with success when reading it from the file
I also checked with tcpdump if any traffic was sent through the
interface eth0 and .... nothing. With the command
netstat -i no packets are transmited to the localhost or to the
interface either.
The vls program only points an error when the Type of the movie is
Mpeg2-PS.
It seems that vls runs the movie but is always telling that it is out of
sync, and in the end it leaves with error
telling that it was unable to create a thread and so it could not start
the movie.
If the Type of movie is Mpeg2-TS nothing happens but the movie does not
play in the vlc......
I supposed that this behaviour is because the vls could not register its
modules when it starts, but i dont know how
to solve it. Any help?
Or, maybe i am missing something ..... Any suggestions?
Iam stuck.....
Thanks to all in advance.
P.S : sorry about my english
