hi,

for experimental purpose i need to read a .mp4 video file into memory,
then pass the video stream to vlc.

i heard someone use fifo to do it so i tried it also, i tried in
RedHat linux 9 where the fifo size is 4096 bytes. i tried various writing
rates and unit sizes but the same problem occur. the writing side always
got broken pipe in the end, while vlc's error is EOF reached. i guess it is
because of synchronization problem, but also might be the improper use of
fifo. (basically i just open the fifo, write in data, wait some time then
write again until finish the file). of coz also might becoz vlc can't read
from fifo directly. anyone got suggestions? thanx a lot!
