There is no such document. The problem here is that there is no ONE
right answer. For some use a 1GB machine can be enough, while for others
it *really* is not. I heard that you at least would need an 1.5 GB
machine and in your case (doing real-time encoding) a > 2 GB machine
would be needed.
VLS can stream MPEG-1 but as I explained in my previous mail your
mileage may vary. It depends on the MPEG-1 encoding if streaming will
work. A better format for streaming is MPEG-2 PS or MPEG-2 TS.
