You can set up VLC to Stream a DVD Disc in unicast/multicast and another
instance of VLC to receive the streamed content. The limitation is that you
can't navigate the DVD from Client, rather need to navigate from Server to
stream out the desired contenr.
For DVD Streaming:
Start VLC , go to "File" in Menu and select " Streaming
Wizard". Click "Open" and then select "Disc". Select "DVD(Menus)" and put
the "device name" as D:, E:..Z: etc as per your DVD Drive. Then select
"OK". Now "Choose" and select the proper Transport Method (UDP address,
port, MPEG-2 TS etc) from the menu appeared. Now Click o "Start" and VLC
should start streaming the DVD.
VLC -Client:
Start another instance of VLC and select "File" from menu and go
to " Open Network Stream". Listen to the IP address/Port in which the
Server is streaming out. Now you should be able to see the DVD Playing.
Now you can select the titles to be streamed out from the VLC-Server
from its navigation menu.
