There is no way that VLC could have damaged your DVD. If it has become
damaged it was not down to playing it through vlc.

Subject: [streaming] VLC Query

Hello,

I installed vlc v 0.7.2 (windows interface) and successfully viewed a
dvd
once during my initial test run. I tried to use that same dvd in my
standard player and the disc wasn't recognized by the player. I
attempted
to view that same disc (dvd) on my pc again and wasn't able to. Now I'm
afraid of using another dvd and messing that one up too - if in fact
that
is what happen. What I'm not sure of - is if I opened the source as a
file
or disc to initially view it. Is there anyway that vlc would alter the
file
(dvd) and prevent it from being viewed by a standard player? (yes my
questions presumes the disc is write'able). Or is this just a config
issue?

I de-installed and installed the player as a trouble shooting technique
but
it didn't seem to make a difference.

I'm running Windows 2000 sp4.

Clearly I'm a novice at this so your patience and assistance is
appreciated -
