How does this pose problems ? This is the whole point behind the design of 
the VLM. VLM allows you to setup an input item and then create instances of 
it as many times as you want, concurrently or not and should even allow you 
to modify the options (eg. stream output options) on an instance basis.

The only problem here is resources limitations but any VOD system will have 
them anyway.
