because cuseeme did  this  with audio and  video and multiconferencing
since 1993 over a 14,4 modem connection.

I meant hardware limitations (eg. network bandwith, memory or CPU 
useage).
If you are not multicasting, then the more clients connects to your VOD
server, the more hardware resources will be used.
