I just built and installed VLC-0.7.1 on RH9.0. I'm trying to play some
streaming MPEG-2 from multicast UDP packets. The video decodes but is
corrupted. The first hint of a problem (besides the corruption) is that the
PES packet size is miscalculated and reported in ParsePES
(./modules/demux/mpeg/system.h).
The message is "packet corrupted, PES sizes do not match"
The calculated size is always smaller that the actual size that comes from
the PES header.
My question is.... Is there any special alignment requirements in the stream
for program stream?
This could be an issue of dropping packets, but it doesn't seem like I
should be dropping so many because the problem is just as bad with a SIF
stream at 1.8Mbps as it is with a D1 at 5Mbps.
