[streaming] Re: Control port for streaming used by VLC

Dear Benjamin,

Actually we use the unicast udp streaming solution to
one destination IP, the server vlc is configured to
use the client IP address and the port 1234, the
client watches the stream with the RTP udp:// , we
tried to sniff the traffic but can only see port UDP
1234 and nothing else.

As I understand is that the streaming servers use this
control port to negotiate the data taht needs to be
exchanged between the client and the server and then
starts the stream and some suggest that it also keeps
track of the streaming through it.
