I am interested too for this question, and i have already mentioned that in
my PC.

I saw with the ethereal (capture packets tool) the requests(packets) from
both the two clients and i saw that from WMP8 the request is HTTP 1.0 while
the request from WMP9 is HTTP 1.1

I dont know if this make the difference.

Does anyone knows something about it..?

Subject: [streaming] Streaming to WMP only works with WMP9

Hi all,

My server is streaming from VLC to WMP with:

vlc udp://@:6060 --intf rc --sout
'#transcode{vcodec=DIV3,acodec=mp3,vb=80,width=176,height=144,ab=0,vt=10000,
keyint=300,hq}
:std{access=mmsh,mux=asfh,url=10.0.1.200:8833/lab.asf}"}' --ttl 7

I am using VLC 0.7.0 in Debian.
$ vlc --version
VideoLAN Client 0.7.0 Bond

I can view the stream with Windows Media Player 9 whithout problems but
unfortunately it does not works in WMP 8 or other versions of the player.
    Stream:  mms://10.0.1.200:8833/lab.asf

Does anyone know if it is possible to stream from VLC to Windows Media
PLayer 8?

Thanks in advance,
   Javier
