[streaming] newbie

Hi,
all I wanted to know whether we can stream live video from 
a camera with vlc installed on linux comp a windows computer and than
reflect that stream from a DARWIN streaming server on a Linux comp.
Also if somebody can plz tell me where does vlc creates is sdp file.
