[streaming] Re: VLC Video Stream

VLC is able to fit all there requirements, except perhaps the ability to
announce  services on  a non  multicast enabled  network. For  this, the
easiest would be to set up a web page listing all available streams.

VLC is totally able to transcode a  video to 320x240, 30 fps, 700 kbit/s
+ mp3 on a 1.5 GHz machine, and to serve them using http.

The  streaming wizard  will help  the setup.  About your  hang with  the
directshow input, which card were you using ?
