Hi,

I am using a hauppauge pvr250 card, the ivtv 0.1.10pre2 drivers and the
vls version 0.5.6 to stream out from a TV camera to vlc (version 0.7.2 and
others)
client. Things generally work well, but I have noticed that vlc is
complaining about the timing being wrong.

backward_pts != current_pts
pts != current date

and audio timeing screwed

This results in a slightly jerky video image and distortion of the audio.

This happens on several different computers, from older 1.4GHz ABIT/Athlon
machines up to a 2.8G Xeon, all running RedHat 8.0 with a
2.4.20-8 kernel.

The vls streamer is running happily reading from Hauppauge NOVA-T PCI DVB
cards and it also streams
standard mpeg-2 files (ts and ps) without any problems, so I am guessing
that the problem lies
somewhere in the mpeg encoder on the pvr card.

Using the PixStream video analyzer from cisco, I see there is a PCR jitter
of 30msecs.

Has anyone else seen this problem?
Any clues as to where to start to look?

Pete
