Hello,
Vlc is good at streaming over the internet, you just have to choose the
appropriate codec and bitrate.
For our WebTV we are using WMV 9 codecs wich are supported on windows with
the last vlc version, and 256Kbs bitrate for compression, but this depends
on your upload bandwith .
You can use the sout module with http access.
For more info check the docs under the stream output section, or type in :
vlc --longhelp --advanced to have the full options available.
for your case , you will have to stream and encode at the same time, so
you'd better use WMV2 or divx codec, just follow the streaming wizard .
