Ok -
I think there is a bug in VLS, not enabling one to rename local1 ( or I
forgot something...). I rechanged "l1" to "local1", now I can stream
.mov files.
Now, I try to do multicast streaming on my my Lan (192.168.0).
I have a Linux Server (Suse 8.1), three Windows (XP/2000) Clients and
one Linux Client (Suse 9.1).
(At the moment I stream from the linux client (9.1) - but will move to
the server when I am successfull...)

So, I start the server, start telnet and give a start command which
responds:
-----------------------------------------------------------
ron at vls> start avi mc local1 --loop
Provider: Manager
Status: 0

  Provider: local1
  Status: 0
  Info: Program avi started
-----------------------------------------------------------
Now, on the screen log I see nothing. Is that OK?
When I try to get the stream from a win client, the error
"main error: cannot pre fill buffer"

Here is my channel configuration:
------------------------------------------------------------
BEGIN "Channels"
# --- Format:
# ChannelName   = "Type"
# --- Example:
#  localhost     = "network"
#  client1       = "network"
#  client2       = "network"
  mc     = "network"
#  localfile     = "file"
END
...
BEGIN "mc"                        # multicast example
  Type    = "multicast"
  TTL     = "0"                          # Time To Live
  DstHost = "239.20.30.40"              # multicast address
  DstPort = "1234"                       # destination port
END
------------------------------------------------------------

Could this be a iptables issue on my server, which might drop the udp
packets?

Cheers,
Ron
