Hi all,
After trying a number of different VLC and linux distributions
I finally was able to install VLC 0.8.2 on FC4 (satisfy all dependencies
I have installed vlc [videolan-client-0.8.2-3.2.fc4.i386.rpm] from the
site:
http://stentz.freshrpms.net/rpm.html?id=426
I tried to use VLC to play some local mp4 files and it was able to play
them.
When I tried to use vlc to play an RTSP stream I ran into problems. Any
help
/advice that you can give would be very appreciated !
I am running a darwin rtsp streaming server on another machine.
I am able to successfully stream using a windows based quicktime
client from the same Darwin server.
Unfortunately I am unable to use vlc to see the rtsp stream from my
Fedora Core 4 machine.
I get the following error when I issue a :
[root at localhost ~]# vlc rtsp://122.23.43.45:554/clonewar384k.mp4
VLC media player 0.8.2 Janus
[00000260] main input error: no suitable access module for
`rtsp://122.23.43.45/clonewar384k.mp4'
[00000253] main playlist: nothing to play
[00000268] main input error: no suitable access module for
`rtsp://122.23.43.45:554/clonewar384k.mp4'
[00000253] main playlist: nothing to play
[00000253] main playlist: stopping playback
[root at localhost ~]#
what do I need to install to be able to play an rtsp stream ?
if there is a different version of vlc which has this vlc support built
in
please let me know where to download it ?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
thanks
Yuvraj
